Lunch @ Cafe Vue at 401

We're back for a leisurely lunch and just for a change we've decided to order off the a la carte menu.

Dinner @ Noir Restaurant

Noir is a newish restaurant in Swan Street Richmond - previously home to Flavours of Lakhoum. We were pointed to Noir by trusted F.O.E (friend of eat) Jay who also gave us the good word on Osteria la Passione.

The chef behind Noir is Peter Roddy and he has worked with Ramsay and Roux in the UK so you do come here with some expectations.

Noir does live up to its name - black and wooden walls with bare wooden tables means that at night it is especially dark inside which can be illustrated by this dismal photo of the noir menu.

Breakfast @ Axil Coffee Roasters

After what seems to have been a long gestation period, Axil Coffee Roasters finally opened their doors earlier this week and as we're working in the area we thought we'd pop in for a visit.

Axil is housed in what used to be Blashki & Sons - in a way they probably service the same customers - it's just moved from students wanting academic wear to students needing a caffeine fix.

Dinner @ Osteria La Passione

Umm, yes, we are back again but it is our first visit since they closed for an extended break over Easter. Rather than me repeating myself, to find out more about this place, just click on the Osteria La Passione label at the bottom of the post and you'll find all our other visits.

Yarra Yering Lunch @ Chateau Yering

It's a combination we couldn't miss. A lunch featuring the wines from one of our favourites wineries at one of our favourite restaurants - You could arguably call this a meeting of the best of the Yarra Valley.

Dinner @ Cafe Vue at Heide

When we're looking for someplace that is relaxing and the food is excellent then we head for Cafe Vue at Heide. With their menus changing monthly there's always something new to try.
