Umm, yes, we are back again but it is our first visit since they closed for an extended break over Easter. Rather than me repeating myself, to find out more about this place, just click on the Osteria La Passione label at the bottom of the post and you'll find all our other visits.
To begin:
Frittata |
Lovely wedge of warm zucchini frittata.
Cured Ocean Trout with Fried Whitebait |
The trout is cured in house and we've enjoyed this in the past - this time there's an extra bonus in the form of fried whitebait.
Sformato of Cavolo Nero |
I think I've become addicted to these sformati - I think they are better than a souffle.
Venison Carpaccio |
We were both impressed with the venison carpaccio - a surprisingly delicate flavour and the meat was exceptionally tender. Good news is that the next special dinner will be venison, the date of which is dependant on supply.
Secret Meat Bresaola |
Don't ask, won't tell.
Pumpkin Ravioli with Sage |
Burnt butter, pumpkin and sage, it's a winner.
Stracotto with Fennel |
Slow cooked, served with its juices, tender and deeply flavoured. Delish.
To finish:
Chocolate and Hazelnut Tart |
Tiramisu |
