I've had this place on my to go list for a little while now, so when we happened to be in the area working, the opportunity presented itself to finally get in a visit.

Last Dinner @ Vue de Monde

Tonight is officially the last service to be held at the Normandy Chambers location before Vue de Monde reopens tomorrow at their new home on Level 55 of the Rialto. We've been looking forward to this dinner, wondering what would be in store for us - to be honest we had hoped that it would a retrospective and to our great surprise, that is exactly what it was!

To make up for our non-existant weekends, we're treating ourselves to lunch with our favourite wine dude Kaylo. We've got a few wines to taste and having been extremely impressed with Noir, we have returned to experience the tasting menu in the daylight!

Breakfast @ Axil Coffee Roasters

Our work is dragging on and it's another early start so today we've decided to revisit Axil for some breakfast.

Our previous visit was a bit hit and miss - two good coffees, two not so good and food that was slow to arrive but well cooked. We've seated ourselves on the other banquette and while it isn't as bad as the opposite side, it still isn't right (Ed - since this visit, they apparently they have done something to fix this).

This time, both coffees were not good at all - the first lot had cold foam but too hot coffee. The second lot was a little cooler but the coffee was bitter but weak and the milk so badly textured it was falling apart. This left us a bit confused considering the pedigree of those involved - not a good sign that the standards are so variable.

Onto the food, last time the food was slow to come out but was excellent. This time it came out quickly but was thoroughly disappointing.

We're working in the area and in need of a late lunch - the two closest options are Axil Roasters and Chester White and as you can tell, we've tumbled back for another visit at Chester White.
