It hasn't taken too long for us to return but this time we've brought the reinforcements along in the form of Al and Elle to help tackle the menu at Cafe Vue at Heide.
There's a totally new menu and we begin by testing out all the starters:
The bitter endive has been tamed in this simple tart of crisp and flaky puff pastry.
This is a dish that hangs upon the stock which is incredibly rich and complex, the perfectly crisp school prawns are a great contrast to the silky and creamy risotto
You get to open the parcel at the table and take in all those lovely aromas of the finely julienned vegetables topped with shelled prawns
The description is simple but the dish certainly isn't, confit duck flesh as well as some of its innards are tangled through the jumble of garden leaves and vegetables.
Mains:
This is a dish that teased us through the night as it was served to other tables - the mouth watering curry aromas
Oops, apologies for the lack of description but as I didn't order this I can't remember what the fish was.
An impressive Veal rib eye, served perfectly pink, accompanied by green and broad beans and boulangerie potato
If you only order one side it must be the garden salad - though, the goose fat fries also got a look in
Dessert:
Once again, it's been a brilliant night out - the food can't be faulted and when you factor in price and quality, this is a bargain.
