We're back at Persimmon and its in the midst of a very busy lunch service.

The Greater Spangled Drongos are here but due to space limitations I won't go into details.

For starters:

Paalo has the Velouté of Butternut Pumpkin with ricotta gnocchi

At the bottom of the dish are two ricotta gnocchi and the soup is poured over them at the table. The gnocchi are feather light and soup is like velvet, with upfront butternut pumpkin flavour.

I have the Carpaccio of Aged Beef, egg yolk, curd, chilli, horseradish

The beef is ultra tender but the confit egg yolks are stunning.

Paalo has the same dish I had last time: 350 grams Rib Eye, Pont Neuf potatoes, red wine grain mustard butter

I have the Coq au Vin - made using baby chicken, it's a cleaner interpretation of the classic.

For desserts:

Paalo has the Bowl of Black Forest - a deconstructed effort, marinated cherries, chocolate toffee, sorbet, chocolate cake

I have the Caramelised Meyer Lemon Tart served with clotted cream.
