Why not start with a view from our window?
We head out for breakfast and run head on into the weekly Saturday market
it's a bit of a mix - fruit and veg, clothing, household items and food vendors selling freshly roasted porchetta
Later in the morning we return to the Truffle Festival - I'll let the photos do the talking
Paalo couldn't go past that piece of Gorgonzola .
We also succumbed to the charms of this Vinsanto - a bottle added to our haul.
This is just too evil - sweet delights from Sicily - some of which ended up coming back with us.
Armed with our goodies and eager to eat some of the them we head back to our apartment
pausing to take a photo of the Cinema Vittoria which is currently undergoing renovation.
We did also buy some black truffles - all these for a stupid €15.
As promised, lunch is scrambled eggs with white truffle - we only use half leaving it for tomorrow's breakfast.
After lunch we go for another wander.
The Duomo - dedicated to Sts Floridu and Amantius in the 11th Century. It was enlarged in 1365 and remodelled in the 15th and 16th centuries.
The chestnuts are roasting as we swing past the festival.
For Dinner we go to a wine bar that was recommended by Elisa and I must say it was fantastic. You walk through the doors and head down into the barrel vaulted cellar.
We started with assorted crostini
and enjoyed wines by the glass
It was followed by carpaccio
and assorted salami and cheese
and a bowl of wonderful Cappelletti, made by the owners mother!
