We're off to Heide to see what's new on the menu.

Sardines on Toast with red pepper salsa

Vibrant colours are matched by the vibrant flavours.

Prawns wrapped in banana leaf

Inside the banana leaf parcel are peeled prawns sitting on a bed of shredded cabbage and carrots, flavoured with hints of ginger, lemongrass, coriander, mint.

For Mains:

Lamb Wellington with smoked eggplant purée

Paalo thought this was much better than the last wellington he had at 401- the pastry was crisper as you would expect, the lamb inside was still pink.

Chicken Kiev with Pommes Pont Neuf

My chicken kiev was a "reimaged' kiev - yes it was crumbed coated and stuffed chicken on the bone but here the chicken had been shredded/minced to form a ball - the centre of which had been filled with a garlic and herb butter.

For Dessert:

Heide Honey Soufflé with Lavender Ice cream

A very good soufflé but in the scheme of things, was overshadowed by the magnificence of the pistachio brûlée.

Pistachio Crème Brûlée with Chocolate Macaron

Just look at the intense green interior and that perfect toffee crust. Ultra smooth and creamy, it just dissolved in your mouth. The type of dessert where it's very difficult not to keep scrapping the bottom of the dish just in case you missed something.
