We often dine as a spur of the moment thing and that is exactly why we find ourselves at Fenix for lunch.
We begin as usual with glasses of Drappier Champagne and it doesn't take too much to convince ourselves to have the 5 course lunch degustation.
Sugar crusted Yabbies with mango tapioca & lychees

"Red" - beetroot terrine, plum, cherries, beetroot gazpacho and aerated sour cream
Wine: Evesham Wood Blanc du Puit Sec (a Pinot Gris/Gewurztraminer blend) from Oregon
Cold Confit Salmon topped with an Ile flottante of Smoked milk, Celeriac puree, Salt Cod Brandade, Salmon roe
Wine: Mornington Peninsula Chardonnay
Grated Quickes Cheddar with white balsamic pickled granny smith apples, raisins, toasted brioche crumbs and baby shiso leaves
Wine: J L Wolf 2005 Wachenheimer Riesling from Germany
Almond sable crush, raspberry foam, rose-water jelly, lemon curd, grated frozen yoghurt, yoghurt ice-cream
Wine: Mornington Peninsula Rosé
Petit Fours: Pink Peach Popsicle, Pineapple and Passionfruit Jelly and Salt and Vinegar Chocolate straws
