Perhaps it is a bit of dining overkill but come Monday it's back to work so we're celebrating our last day of freedom at Bistro Thierry. I can't believe that it has almost been a year since we were here but what you get at Bistro Thierry is the feeling that no time has passed at all.
There's that same buzz, the french conversation, the french waiters and it still feels like you've stumbled into a little Parisian bistro and that is a very good feeling.
We begin with:
A dish for offal lovers, a hearty serving of chicken livers with the robust flavours of mushroom and bacon bound with red wine.
Looks are deceiving, this is another hearty serve of well spiced tartare - served with a simple green salad and plate of melba toasts made from thin slices of baguette.
For mains:
Tender meat, rich sauce, creamy potatoes - c'est magnifique.
One of the best dishes of rabbit I've had in a while, it could not have been cooked or presented any better.
On the side:
we ordered the beans cooked with butter and flaked almonds
For dessert:
For Paalo, the selection of Ice cream and sorbets - blood orange, chocolate, coffee and coconut served with a macaron.
For me, I couldn't go past the brûlée
just look inside, the sugar coating like toffee, the custard heavily speckled with vanilla - it doesn't get much better than this.
