Cena - Circolo del Vecchio Gusto #3

We're off for a late dinner at Circolo del Vecchio Gusto. There's a fixed price menu with white truffle option. In this family run spot, the dad is a trifolau which means you are getting the truffles straight from the source. Tonight there's one dish that is just crying out for white truffle so we've decided to treat ourselves.

For starters we decide to have a misto of antipasto

which consists of smoked swordfish - carne cruda - vitello tonnato. The swordfish has been cold smoked leaving it with a lovely subtle smoky flavour.

Next up

Flan con fonduta - this is the dish that needed those white truffles

shaved at the table by the man who found it. Simple but perfect.

Pasta is next

Freshly made tagliatelle with a lovely rich ragu.

For the secondo

roasted pork with hazelnut sauce served with sautéed vegetables.

We manage to fit in a little dessert

lovely pot of tiramisu

and panna cotta.
