As if Alba didn't have enough going for it, it's now got another string to its bow. I mean you have chocolate and hazelnuts, truffles both black and white, wines from arneis to barolo and now there's a Birroteca - a dedicated hub for all things beer.
There's a daily changing menu but a word of warning, this is a wine free zone.
I'm not really a beer drinker so I was pleased to find a pear cider to try
Cornish Orchards Black and Gold Pear Cider
while Paalo selects a local brew
Birra Pasturana Fil Rouge made in the Alessandria provence of Piemonte.
This is a barley beer that has been fermented with the dregs of Brachetto giving it that rosé colouring.
For our mains we select:
Gnocchi all fonduta di burrata e pesto
Tagliatelle paglia e fieno ai porcini
For dessert
Semifreddo alla crema Chantilly e uva
