This is our last full day in Turin and while Paalo seems to be back at full strength it's my turn not to feel their best.
With the rain failing, there's not real point it visiting the Basilica at Superga so we'll stay in town and explore new and old areas.
Our first stop is a the beautiful Chiesa di Maria Santissima Ausiliatrice
Founded by Don Bosco who is also buried here, it was designed by Antonio Spezia and built between 1865-1868.
The statue of Madonna on the cupola is by Boggio.
Don Bosco is the founder of the Salesian Society and believed that teaching should be based on love and kindness and not punishment.
After enjoying our time in the splendor of the church we've taken the short trip to visit the market.
You can see more market photos at the flickr set:
Turin Market
As it was getting that time of the day we paused for lunch at one the cafe's near the market
As soon as Paalo saw the wood fired oven he knew pizza was the go.
He really couldn't go past the Bufala
and I had the Salsicce
Afterwards it was back to the room to get packing and prepare ourselves for leaving tomorrow.
We take one last stroll around the neigbourhood before dinner and stopped by two more churches.
The first, Chiesa di San Francesco d'Assisi - designed by Vittore and Quarini it dates from 1756.
The next, the Chiesa di San Rocco
Dinner was had at a place we passed by on our afternoon stroll
It was only apparent once we entered that this is part of a chain of restaurants, though they do source they produce from small producers in Naples that are DOP and DOC certified.
We begin with the Antipasto dish that could well have been enough for dinner alone.
We had however already ordered pasta we couldn't do justice too - my pasta is one the left and it's a mix potatoes and pasta and Paalo's was a buffalo mozarella gnocchi. Both very filling and arrived piping hot onto the table.
