Thursday is market day and I thought I'd start with some photos from the market.
This is where you'll find the real farmers market - what you see for sale here is either made or grown by the people selling it
Whereas, the rest of the market is a mix - some are growers, some are wholesalers
the produce is a mix of locally grown and imported - it can be from a different region or country and generally you'll see origin information on the tags.
Like these fantastic peppers are from Cuneo.
Lunch was a simple affair - start with fresh bread from La Forneria
add some fabulous salami from Guido
and finish with cheese and giardiniera (made by me)
and a couple of bottles of Ginger Baladin.
Dinner was the result of an impulse purchase at the butcher - these individual sized cotechino
Really simple to cook - prick them just a few times then simmer for about 20 minutes. Cut in half, saute until golden and they are ready. Serve on top of creamy parmesan mashed potatoes
